- This file is used to initialize your printer for report generation. Lines
- 1-6 are the ONLY ones that have any effect:
- Ln 1: printer initialization for printing reports in the Hunt mode;
- Ln 2: select character set containing IBM graphics characters (if your prin-
- ter uses switches to select character sets, you may skip this item);
- Ln 3: compressed print; Ln 4: 1/8 inch line spacing;
- Ln 5: # of columns your printer can print in compressed mode (132 or 230);
- Ln 6: # of lines per per page with 1/8 inch spacing (88 or 68);
-
- Line 1 may contain an escape sequence up to 30 characters long. Lines 2 to 4
- may have up to 9 characters each. You need not fill in all the lines, but the
- ones you do fill in must follow the above scheme. Each escape sequence must be
- in the form of CHARACTERS, not decimal or hex numbers. Consult your printer's
- manual for the character sequences you need, and remember to enter the se-
- quences on the correct lines above. Lines 5 and 6 consist of mere numbers.
-
-
- In EDITX, to enter a CONTROL-CHARACTER (such as ESC), you must press ^P
- (CTRL-P) just before you type the control character. Example for Epson LX-800:
-
- LINE SEQUENCE IN EDITX, YOU ENTER APPEARS AS
- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
- 1 ESC @ ^P, then press ESC, then @ @ .
- 2 ESC t 1 ^P, then press ESC, then t, then 1 t1 .
- 3 ESC ^O ^P, then press ESC, then ^P, then ^O .
- 4 ESC 0 ^P, then press ESC, then 0 .
-
- Note that Line 2's graphics sequence will not have the desired effect un-
- less your printer's graphic character set is absolutely identical to that of
- the IBM PC line of computers.
-
- If you were using an Epson LX-800 printer and standard 8-1/2" x 11" paper,
- lines 1 to 6 would appear as:
- @ .
- t1 .
- .
- .
- 132 .
